There are several other key factors you may want to consider when selecting a resume writing site:

• Be sure you can actually speak to your writer before and during the resume creation process. Many resume writing companies, especially in the lower price range, do not offer this. Don't believe a promise that you will be working with "a resume expert". Get their name and phone number and speak with them personally. Do not accept email-only contact. I work with my clients one on one, over the the phone and with email. I am available during the day and even at home on evenings and weekends.
• Ask about turn around time. This varies drastically. My turnaround time is usually 2 business days - often less. I can often accommodate extreme rush orders and get you a resume in less that 24 hours. There is no extra charge for this rush service. Many companies charge extra for even 2 day turnarounds.
• Ask the writer what their qualifications are. Simply being a so-called "certified resume writer" is only a minimal qualification. I am an expert writer whose work has been published in magazines and newspapers all over the world. Plus I have extensive experience in marketing with a major corporation. A marketing background is important, since resumes are very much marketing documents.
• Be sure everything is very clearly explained on the website. Check that everything you want is included and that there are no add on charges to surprise you later.
• Be sure the company stores your documents for at least 2 years, in case your computer crashes and you lose everything. This should be a free service, but some companies are charging $25 for it!
• Ask the price for future updates. Many companies are charging $50 to $100 for this. I charge $25. Minor updates like an address change are free with Cutting-Edge-Resumes.com
• Check out the sample pages carefully. Some samples are truly awful. Be sure the sample looks like something you would be proud to send out. NEVER hire a resume service that does not provide samples of their work.
